In the PBY, I believe it was the GO-9.  I have a GO-9 and found a  
picture of a PBY at the Pensacola Naval Aviation museum with the GO-9  
transmitter in place in the radio space.

A fairly quick search did not turn up that picture on the net, but if  
you find the Pensacola museum web page and then look for their PBY you  
may well find that picture.  The  picture I have is not on the cutaway  
exhibit pages on the museum web site. I got the picture from a fellow  
who may have been working on the cutaway exhibit there some years ago.
