Etc with all sorts of interesting suggestions.

40-50 years ago, I'd agree. Kind of. But that was then and this is
now when people like Dave Stinson actually outlined the problems
associated with the Command Sets and their reputed horrid performance
and provided solutions to them.

By the way, virgin sets are harder to come by now so any
"improvements" should be made on already "improved" equipment. I have
a few sets here earmarked for just such treatment, some of which
"improved" to the state of maybe being better as parts sources. In
the event someone attempts a conversion using virgin equipment, I
shall be forced to summon Mung the Moribund, son of Mong the Maid …
er, Mad who is the second cousin twice removed (and yet he keeps
coming back) of Mang the Motley, half-brother of Ming the Merciless.
(Ming, of course, was the one constantly thwarted in his attempts to
rise above himself by none other than Buster Crabbe, cleverly
disguised as Flash Gordon. Of Meng and Myng, no one is certain where
they stand. Or sit.)

This is a warning not to be taken lightly. Mung and his Killer
Butterflies have been known to do horrid damage. No one has figured
out to what, though I'm sure it was something quite important. To
someone. Somewhere.

BEst regards,

Michael, Wh7HG ... no relation to the above mentioned family. Thankfully.
