Gotta agree with this one. Kind of. It would include a lot of the
post-war "improvements" done, largely to the ARC-5 & SCR-274-N sets,
that were performed in some horrid manner that makes a slasher movie
seem tame by comparison. Some are recoverable with patience and time
(and a little luck in a few cases) while others can either be examples
of misdirected zeal or parts sources.

I guess I have another of those "rare" pieces, though. (Thanks,
Larry.) It's a Type 12 VHF Communicator (Without checking, I think
it's a CM-10 in the catalog) painted a really cool olive green and
bearing the lovely Morgue Yellow Circle-M stamps. For whoever it was
keeping track of such things, it is serial number 141. Condition is
beautiful except for a small gouge on one surface, though I do still
need to accessorize it with the original antenna (vertical dipole with
fixtures), A.R.C. headphones (aside from 600 ohm, I'm not sure what
these were.) and mic (a relabeled RS-38) and a few other little
detaily things that fit into the side compartment. I'm guessing these
run pretty close to close to extinct and I may have to do some
creative fabrication instead.

BEst regards,

Michael, WH7HG
