Not sure, but the Enola Gay had its SCR-522 changed out for an ARC-3 in
June 1945 on its way to Tinian. The ARC-3 is listed as a replacement
for the SCR-522 in the evaluation of B-29 avionics in December 1944.

Agree. The November 1945 issue of Airborne Radio Maintenance Notes
(ARMN) (19th in a monthly series) already has dozens of modification
docs listed for the ARC-1, and it has 39 pages of detailed operational
information.

VHF ARC-5. The ARMN also lists that as a problem.
