Sorry I have been out of touch lately as I have been traveling a lot.
I have a report on the Yardney tuner that I found at National Archives. I am
trying to post it on my web site but I am having some technical problems at
the moment. It is a 4MB PDF file that I could probably e-mail to you if you
like.
You can see one photo of the Yardney installation in a TBM-1C on my radio
page at:

Thanks,

Hi All,
I found some useful info.
1) Pages 4-5 thru 4-7 of CoNavAer 08-1-505 AIRBORNE MAINTENANCE NOTES
AN/ARC-5
" Automatic Tuning System for Medium Frequency AN/ARC-5 Receivers"
I don't know how or from whom I got these copied pages, but they turned
up in my not so organized collection of lit.
2) I remembered Taigh Ramey's comments regarding the spot tuner so I
went to WWW.TWINBEACH.COM and there is a report From the Chief of the
Bureau of Aeronatics "TBM-1c-Flight Test of C131/AR Yardney Automatic
Selector Mechanism".This report has pictures and shows the modified
control box very nicely. The cover letter indicates there should be 1
drawing and 2 photes but the drawing is not on the web site.

Jay KE6PPF

Yes?
There is a 17 position Cannon connector on the C-131, for which Robert
provided me a mating plug. This is all shown in AN 08-35C131-2 rather
nicely. 14 pins are used for the channel selection, one for ground
and two for power.
This switching is independent of the channel select switching for the
ART-13 which makes things a bit more complicated than necessary, but I
didn't design the thing.
BEst regards,
Michael, WH7HG
