Good morning again!
Okay, to augment my earlier info request, I need to add some things
about how I know what I know so far. I have manuals on the Type 12
group of radios from A.R.C, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force as
well as several Type 15 & ARN-30(*) manuals. In addition to those
publications, the individual Type references came from various A.R.C.
ads from 1947 on, their 1960 catalog and articles by Gordon White.
That much homework I've done and this is where I'm stonkered.
('Stonkered' is a highly technical term, you realize.)
Most of the Type numbers followed the receiver models involved with
one exception I know of being the Type 17 which used an R-23/ARC-5 and
apparently never went past the experimental stage. (This looks like
A.R.C.'s version of the Navy's ZA AirTrack system.) Now I'm looking
for other exceptions or sets that for one reason or another didn't hit
the Big Time.
I'll revisit the question about the NRL's crystal controlled ARA/ATA
sets another time, I guess.
Best regards,
Michael
