[ARC5] How Secret Was the ZB/YG System? Not much! Really?

I lived in the UK from 1973 till 1988. I asked in all the likely places -
military and otherwise - for info on the ARR-2. Result? Nada! When I
returned to Australia, I asked of similar sources and all I got was a
circuit diagram from a radio amateur who had worked on the system during his
time in the RAAF. No-one in either country would admit whether there was a
security classification on the device or the documentation, even when I
asked. I visited the USA in 1995 and found a radio mechanic who had
installed, maintained and removed this gear from aircraft. After several
hours of very fruitful conversation, I had all the literature and parts
anyone could want. But, he thought that there may have been an embargo on
releasing any info in even slightly mis-aligned countries, and hence why
no-one would admit even the existence of the system. However, without the
two frequencies and the code of the day, you couldn't do much anyway.
