I got to my Type-12 docs.
The H-13 "Mash" helocopter did not use the Type-17.
It used a version of the Type 12 that included two
T-11 transmitters, an R-11 190-550 KC receiver and
an A-12 antenna. No navigation capacity in the
"by the book" installation. This is in docs from 1950 to 1958.
So they were still using LF freq towers in Korea.

An interesting aside: The 1950 Type-12 parts manual has
a diagram of a set that mixes Type-12 and AN/ARC-5
in one installation. Pretty cool.
