[ARC5] Needful Things

Hi, folks,

Before anything else, I'd like to thank a few people for helping me
move forward with the book. In no particular order, these are Gordon
White, Robert Downs, Larry Godek, Brian Clarke, Jack Antonio … and I'm
sure others who've slipped my mind. If I have forgotten anyone,
please deliver a digital swift kick so I can add you to the list.

Now, does anyone have a manual for the N-6A gun camera they could copy
for me? I have three of these now (and I suspect more to come) and it
would be nice to know what I'm doing inside them. Also, if anyone has
some C-mount lenses floating around they don't want, please let me
know.

With still more to come – manuals & other documents (Thank you,
Gordon), RU/GF components (Thank you, Robert), Type SCR-274-N et al
components among others (Thank you, Brian, Larry et al) – my required
single 4' bookshelf has grown to two 7' shelves with a third one
threatening … er, looking promising. (Mike, is this how the Flight
Deck started?)

This is the part where I say something like "However I still need stuff."

Having already said it, here's a list of things I've identified so far
that are still on the "utter necessities" list:

ARC-5 Equipment:

T-19/ARC-5
R-26/ARC-5
RE-2/ARC-5
MT-7*/ARR-2 (I actually need three of these)
MT-5/ARR-2
MT-63/ARC-5
MT-70/ARC-5
MT-71/ARC-5
MT-76/ARC-5
MT-77/ARC-5

A.R.C. Type 12 equipment:

R-20 Marker Rx
R-31 Glide Slope Rx with mount
M-11* Tx mount (Need two of these)
M-12* Rx mount also for CV-431
M-23 for R-20
A-12 and/or A-15 VHF Antenna (In whatever combination, but a total of 3 needed)
A-13 VOR/ILS Ant
A-16 UHF Ant
L-10* Loop Ant (I need 3 of these)
IN-10 (mil IN-453/ARN-30) VOR/ILS indicator
C-1254/ARN-30 (I can't find a civilian equivalent to this)
Tube cover for a 24v T-13* or military equiv
F-10 VAR Filter & mount
J-15A (24v) Junction Box.

Side note: Actually any of the J-13* or J-15* 24 volt boxes are good
but the J-15* offers the most room for connections. Having some of
these boxes as spares would be good too.

MC-211 and/or MX-22/ARR-2 (A.R.C. p/n 6357) right angle adapters.
(Want 10. Will settle for what I can get.)

BC-608 (p/o RC-96 Pipsqueak)

ARR-1 system (R-1, RE-1, C-1, connectors, shock mounts, et al. A
manual would be nice as well.)

In order to bring some chaos to the disorder, I would also like some
instrument panel rack rails – around 4' (2' doubled) – and maybe a cut
down instrument panel to go with it so I can install the IN-10 and all
the various control boxes as one happy unit.

I haven't shown any specific connectors yet because I'm unsure where I
stand with them. I'll know better once I have equipment in place and
I can start filling holes in anticipation of cabling everything
together. "Everything" so far includes the system wrapped around the
C-40 control box less the FM set, an ARC-60, a Type 11 set (T-11, R-11
and a control box I haven't identified yet), a Type 15 and/or ARN-30,
and something else but I can't remember what.

If I can find a C-131/AR-equipped R-27/ARC-5 (or a C-131 & an R-27 to
marry and make One), and I can find or make a C-287 (I think) control
box, then I'll pick up a T-47/ART-13 or ATC and put them together as a
system as well. (Really, Mike, is this how it started?) This means
more racks & mounts and connectors and a raft of other stuff.

Oh, yes. Does anyone have an abundance of end kits for tuning cables
of the A.R.C. sort and the tools to attach them to cables? I'm
guessing not but it never hurts to ask.

As always, thank all of you for your generosity and assistance.

Best regards,

Michael K3MXO/KH6
