Marty,

HMMM....   Don't use the variable inductor at all.   Never tried that.   Have 
used the small fixed series cap with command sets, TCS, ATD, TA-12 and GP-7.  
 On the latter set, 100pf works FB 160 thru 40M.

Still don't understand where Ian's model puts the 1500pf unit, i.e., in 
parallel with the link, in series with it, where....?   (Ian, are you there?)
