Subject: [ARC5] RX/TX interconnection?
I inherited what appears to be a BC-455 (bare aluminum, 6-9.1 Mc) and a
T-22/ARC-5 (black wrinkle finish, 7-9.1 Mc). Am still learning the
nomenclature.
Would a pair like this have an automatic RX de-sense when transmitting or
woulf this be done remotely? My TCS-8 does this internally via umbilical
cables to/from the PSU.
These use a pair of standard mounts screwed onto a wooden plank, but have a
vibrapack on the back side of the RX where the dynamotor would go, and a
mystery box w/a pair of VR tubes behind the TX. All add-ons use the rear
connectors on the rack. The units themselves appear to be intact and the
combo probably worked 50 years ago, given who it belonged to.
I am unsure how to feed the vibrapack (should I bother trying?) and can send
photos of the units and the input(?) connector.
