That's interesting. Somewhere, I have a "CC-" marked
pilot's junction box, and it also has those non-stock,
fine-thread connectors.
If I had to guess, it would signify use in some special application system
that was installed in an aircraft that was going to see tough service, since
these connectors are more robust- less failure prone in a salt environment-
than the stock A.R.C. connectors, which had a bad habit of collecting
condensate and corroding.
An aside: this is more proof of ARC-5 HF's long service,
since the artifact I have buried around here somewhere is
dated in the 1960s, IIRC.
