I really wasn't trying to shoot the messenger ... though I guess it
came across that way.  I do apologize for that.

A lot of us Nam-era vets are still at odds with the government after
the way we were treated when we got home, let alone how messed up that
"conflict" was.  My claim took 37 years, but I know vets who are still
waiting to be heard, let alone anything further.  And I know others
who've given up, some using Solution 45 (or something similar) as a
response.  For way too long it was "Vets help vets 'cuz on no else
will" and, for a large number of us, that attitude still holds even
though we're doing a "grab and run" while the VA still recognizes us
as worthy of their attention.  Now the Gulf War vets are getting the
same run around, and I don't want to think about what the present Iraq
et al vets are going to face.

Oh, well ... I wonder if a veterans' march on Washington like the one
after WW I would help.
