I have never seen this trouble in a receiver
with "good" (at 24 volt) caps and healthy resistors.
Perhaps I've been lucky.
Or maybe it's peculiar to the 453.  I've only 
run two on 24 volts, and that's not a significant sample.
Perhaps they do require more "ommph" for all that wire 
in the coils.
