AND, you had to decide prior to purchase which
font you wanted.  Pica ran 10 characters per inch
and elite used 12 per inch.

I only had access to an elite Underwood and had
tor writ more words in term papers, etc. than the
folks with Pica typewritersd did to fill the same
number of pages.
