Mac,

I had no idea what that was, so I looked it up at:

Where I find the short description:
"Transponder, Identification friend or foe, Airborne, 470 MHz, 5 W. "

It looks as if it uses Loctal tubes and the output tube is one of those 
round glass triodes or tetrodes made back then.
