I recently acquired a FT-233-A single receiver rack. It is unremarkable except for being made by a company I've never seen on any SCR-274-N component before: Edcar Company of Burbank, CA. Has anyone ever heard of this maker before?
I suspect this was probabaly made post-WWII for those many USAAF/USAF installations which utilized only the BC-453-B and C-570B/A control panel for NDB coverage.
Although it shouldn't, it always surprises me when I see evidence for the use of WWII-era "command set" gear decades after WWII. One of my SCR-274-N manuals (T.O. 12R2-3SCR274-1) is revised to 25JUL56, yet was part of a 500 copy reprint run on 12DEC62. I've seen USN R-23/ARC-5 installations in training aircraft at NAS Corpus Christi as late as 1972.
