Hi, folks,
I got a Stratocon R2001 in the mail a few days ago, purchased from BPB
Surplus. These folks handle bits and pieces of airplanes rather than
being an electronics surplus house, and have a couple of other items
of interest to me in my quest toward ... hmmm ... can I get back to
you on what the quest is? Anyway, this is a modernized version of the
C-40 designed to be installed in an aircraft instrument panel rack and
looks fairly clean.
As I mentioned before, the C-40 is designed to handle an A.R.C. R-11
(including the loop) & R-19, a T-23/ARC-5, an ARC-5 Rx/Tx pair (The Rx
dial is for an R-26/ARC-5 and I would presume the TX would be a T-19
set to 3105 KCs), intercom of some order and an FM set. The FM set
mentioned for the original C-40 was the SCR-619 however this box was
made in 1960 and I don't know if it was still in service that late.
(Maybe an ARC-44 instead?) This with an ARN-30 and an A.R.C. R-20
makes up to be a nice nav-com package with the FM for talking to the
groud troops included.
Now all I have to do is build it.
Best regards,
Michael, K3MXO
