It's part of the spare "valve" set for the British/Canadian Wireless Set 19.
The Wireless Set 19 is an HF and UHF transceiver, developed in England in
1939, and was in service during WW2 with the Allied forces. They were also
manufactured in the US for Russia under the Lend-Lease contract.
They were in use in several European countries and Canada into the 1960's.
Many of us still use 19 Sets on the air, and there is a weekly Wireless
Set 19 net on 3705 KHz on CW, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 8 PM
Eastern. Net Control is VA3ORP.
The Wireless Set 19 Group has a website with activities and technical
information, and other resources at http://www.qsl.net/ve3bdb/ .
