Looking from the outside, pin 1 is in the upper left, then proceeding counter-clockwise, there's pin 2 through 7. Pin 8 is in the center.
You can verify this by removing the botton plate and the coil pack. The pins you identify as pins 3 and 4 have no connection made to them in an R-25, 26, 27/ARC-5.

Unlike the ARA and SCR-274-N receivers, the R-25, 26, 27/ARC-5 receivers do NOT have any receiver audio brought to this connector at pin 4. Thus, as originally wired, you won't have anything to connect to that audio jack on you ham panel. You could solder a wire from the audio transformer to this pin 4, I guess.
Soldering to the pins of this connector, which will invariably cause damage, is discouraged on a radio that has survived 63 years without ham-molestation, but that's your call.
