[ARC5] VFO problem solved

A common problem with this is beginning to surface.
In mine, I've found it to be the connection bar that
is press-fit on the end of the variable capacitor
stators- the one to which solder connection is made.
Oxidation develops between the bar and the stator
assembly. It happens on all three of the caps under
the chassis. A large soldering iron and a steady hand
to solder the bar directly to the stator repaired
the problem in three of my transmitters.
I haven't gone after the osc. cap in the can
on top, but it's probably just a matter of time.

I've also seen this problem in one 3-6 MC receiver.
I cured that one by using some copper wire and a
battery to "spot-weld" the connection points.
