Dennis,

I've never come across an R-124/ARC-5X nor any mention of it. And likewise
for any 14 volt version of the R-24/ARC-5. Several of of us have or have seen
the R-148/ARC-5X (the 14 volt version of the R-23) and it is covered in the
later revisions of the AN/ARC-5 manuals. Could you post the text complete from
the nameplate?

Also, on terminology, VLF is 3 to 30 KHz (KC). Despite Young Bill gigging me
sometimes when I say never, I'll stick my neck out and say that there were
never any VLF Command Set receivers built. The R-23 was LF/MF, and the R-24
and R-25 were MF. The rest were HF or VHF. If you throw in the early WW-II and
just pre-war sets (RAT, RAT-1, RAV, ATA/ARA, SCR-274N, ), you get LF through
VHF sets, but only HF 14 volt ones.
