First time I saw this trick was an OT who had a small tube sitting
atop his HB antenna tuner. He'd tune up, and on would come the light.
Sure looked like magic to me. In fact, I still have that magic tuner.

Ever seen it done under those huge cross country HT lines? That'll get
people's attention for sure.
