[ARC5] ARC-5 Rcvr AGC not working. Caps to replace?

I'm looking @ R-24/ARC-5 & cap is C-5, 3 ufd.  There's also C-6B or
C-20C, both .05s, that cud hold cathodes near ground.  Check cathode
line w. ohmeter.  If 620 ohms to gnd it's a .05, if slap @ gnd, it's the
3. (3s charm?)

Now I was told 190-550 & .52-1.5 had no AVC.  Not.  Oral tradition
failure.  AVC fm diode in 2nd IF tube leaving it to work independent of 
BFO.  Big yay for SSB, but vy little SSB where these sets tune

other sets, 1.5-3, etc, do AVC p/u AFTER last IF allowing most under
fone op'n.  Bad affected by BFO tho.  Wonder if any HF 'arc 5s' ever 
reworked for "Q-5er AVC ckt.."

And a un-mod'd R-23 uese as a Q-5-er w. a double-balenced mixer sub'd 
under chassis shud be hell for fb on sideband.
