[ARC5] Heater chain mods - removing?

Hi,

Just joined the list.

I have a couple of R-26 receivers that have been modified for mains 
operation, which means the heaters have been rewired to 12 volts. The method 
of doing this seems to be different for each receiver and I was wondering if 
there was a standard procedure for this, perhaps based on a magazine article 
or something? I'm just starting out with this series of equipment so please 
excuse the basic question!
