[ARC5] Interesting variant...

I have a BC-453 here which seems rather unusual to me. Its case and 
chassis is not formed by being stamped (?) out of a single piece of aluminum 
with rounded corners, but rather appears to be folded from a flat piece of 
aluminum, somewhat like a standard chassis. It has distinct joints at the 
corners and, is quite square-ish and sharp-edged.

It looks to me as though it is either a very early version, or a very late 
version.

Has anyone here seen such a receiver? What can you tell me about it?

If anyone is interested in seeing this, I will post some photos of it asap.
