Hello,
I have posted an excerpt from a report evaluating the Yardeny spot tuner
which was mounted on the R-26. Evidently it was used to auto tune the R-26
with the ART-13. This report, which is dated in August 21, 1944, shows the
setup installed in a TBM-1C Avenger. You folks know more about this set up
than I so I would like to hear your thoughts. I have loaded the file as a
PDF on the web site so just click on the picture to download the PDF.
I was recently at the National Archives doing research on the Messerschmitt
ME-262. I came across a picture of a captured example that was being
evaluated by the US Navy. Guess what radio they put into the German Jet. It
was an ATA/ARA.
