Hi Gordon!
Yup - it's actually almost identical to the Navy RAX-1 receiver tube
pullers - I stashed a picture at
http://members.cox.net/aaf-radio-4/ARC_Tool_Set.jpg. The problem with
them is that they tend to scratch the black paint on the metal tubes,
and are slippery as all getout. A dip in liquid tool handle rubber is
all they really need, but I'm hesitant to do that to an original A.R.C.
tool... :-)
This isn't hard to make, to be truthful. A few minutes spent with a
hacksaw, file, and a 6" hunk of thin wall pipe of roughly the same ID of
the metal tubes would make a reasonable substitute. A little tool
handle rubber and you're all set. I just haven't found the round tuit
that's also required for fabrication yet.
Happiest of holidays to you and the rest of the ARC-5 list!
- Mike
