I can't imagine how a BC-375 could possibly fit in a SBD Dauntless. There was barely room for the RU/GF,LM,ZB,a few coil sets and possibly a DU along with the gun.Now the Helldiver and Avenger had much more room and I've seen photos of the ART-13 in both.I think the ARB was commonly used in these aircraft also.
 Happy New Year all,
                    Jay

I'm in contact with a WWII Marine aviation gentleman in Oregon
who was a radio/gunner on Dauntless, Helldiver and TBM.
He's a vet of the Marianas Turkeyshoot.
Just helped him identify the transmitter (paired with an RU receiver)
he used in the Dauntless. It was a BC-375!
He was assigned to a TBM on Okinawa and in June of 1945,
they finally got an ART-13.

How about them apples?
Just goes to show- if we say "they never did" or "they always did,"
we need to think again.
We *can* say that they used whatever they could get that worked,
especially early in the Pacific.

I'll ask his permission to forward his rememberances.
