One difference between a DM-32 and a D-10 / DY-86: 
The D-10 is often missing the hash suppresser cap across
the dyno brushes.  Don't remember if it's both ends or
just the low-voltage end that's missing it.

Lots of swapping did take place.  I have a couple of D-10s 
that are obviously re-nomenclatured.  In fact, I have one
that has a double-stamped plate; one side says "D-10"
and the other says "DM-32."

Don't feel alone; I'm absolutely picky 
about the nomen plates being "right," 
to the point that I won't acquire a set that doesn't have one.
After all: An ultimately-rare RAV set is exactly like a first run ARA, 
save for the nomen plate.  
Without that plate, it's just another ARA in my book.
