A couple of days ago i posted the following relating to VHF freq's with
the intent of adding to Dave's posting

142.74
126.18
116.1
118.7, Great Falls, Mont.

Those are the only VHF channels i see listed in my T.O. NO. 08-15-1,
Army Air Forces Radio Facility Charts, 15 Feb. 1946.

Let me add to this bit of info.

128.16 was a frequency that was also used although i only see it listed
for two locations, Bolling Field and Grand Island, Neb.

126.18 was a primary frequency for the AAF and commercial fields like
Van Nuys, Long Beach, Independance, MO. as a couple of examples.

142.74 appears to have been primarily used for NAS, NAAF and MCAS
facilities as i don't see it listed by any AAF installations with
consistancy.

140.58 was used at Lakehurst N.A.S. and possibly one other location
which i can't locate right now.

Tucson AAB used 140.1 for some reason and 116.1 is noted as "Range
transmits and guards 116.1". Its also shown as "To Municipal Airport"
along with 126.18.

There are some variations to the above listings with some of the NAS,
NAAF etc locations also monitoring the AAF frequency of 126.18

Mather Field which is south of Sacramento is shown as 125.18 but i think
thats probably a typo as it was an AAF installation.

Bakersfield shows 126.18 but also 140.1

Also included in the T.O. is "Correction Notice for Radio Facility
Charts, 15 Feb., 1946 which also has variations in Freq. useage along
with Tower and DF decommissioning listings.

One such interesting excursion from the routine lists Bryce Canyon, Utah
as guarding 3117.5 and 131.5 continuous.

This info is just a sampling of the radio facilities listed as being
active for all installations civilian, Naval and AAF related as of 15
Feb. 1946.

Commercial HF frequencies were between 2.xxx Mc and 11.960 Mcs which was
an Eastern Airlines channel.

Hope this helps. Any questions pertaining to any installation and
frequencies of operation i can help with, please drop me a line.
