After I posted my reply, I decided to go verify what my
sometimes faulty memory said, and here is what I found:
>From TO-16-40SCR274-5 page 49
"Remove the fourteen bright screws around the bottom edge of
the chassis and front panel"
Then later on, to remove the receiver outer shield
"Remove the eight bright screws (four rearmost screws along the
top edge of the tie strap on each side of the chassis) and slide
the outer shield back and off. This outer shield is NOT fastened
by the three foremost black screws along the top edge of the tie
strap on each side of the chassis, nor by the black screws around the
outer edge of the front panel."
Later on, the manual says the RF coil set is secured by black
screws, and further still, the manual says the IF cans are secured
by bright screws.
So, someone somewhere thought black vs bright placement was
important.
More arcane ARC-5 trivia.
