[ARC5] AN/ARC-48 Info?

I picked up an odd little receiver-transmitter, about the size and
weight of an R-28/ARC-5, called an RT-307/ARC-48.  It appears to be a
four-fixed-channel, remote-operated, low power HF (I think, but I may be
wrong) unit made for the USN.

The dynamotor well accepts a DY-2A/ARR-2 dynamotor perfectly, yet this
RT has a fair number of tubes and it's hard to see how an HF RT using a
command set dynamotor could produce enough output to be worth the
trouble.

Has anyone run across any info on such a unit?  A web search produced no
useful.
