I'll take a crack at it, Dave.
I believe there were three major electronics companies in Boonton,
NJ, in 1943: Aircraft Radio Corporation, Boonton Radio
Corporation, and Measurements Corporation.
We all know about A.R.C., who, out at the airport, designed and
manufactured neat aircraft radio related stuff. They later
disappeared into Cessna Corp.
B.R.C. designed and manufactured test equipment in Boonton since
its beginning in 1934. Some of B.R.C.s equipment was specified by
A.R.C. for testing their radios. Boonton Radio Corporation became
a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company in 1959 and later moved to
Rockaway, NJ. On November 1, 1962, B.R.C. became a division of H-P
at which time its name was changed to Boonton Radio Company. I
think they've disappeared, too.
I would imagine there was nothing more than a cordial relationship
between A.R.C. and B.R.C. in 1943.
I know nothing about Measurements Corp. except that they designed
and manufactured test equipment.
Built you a watch, didn't I!
