I agree with David Stinson on trying the large capacitors. And
if Paul could run the experiment........

The "charge" required is substantial as indicated in a previous
note, but the current drops off VERY rapidly as the Dynamotor
spins up. 

Rather than getting a "honker" power supply and not needing
that capability most of the time, add one of the many computer
type electrolytics for the initial surge. For example a 40,000+mfd 
40V electrolytic (Mouser carries them and many more). They are 
everywhere in computer electronics junk stores for a few dollars, 
IBM had some really large caps in some of their supplies. You 
ought to try that and see just how low a fixed max current power 
supply you can start and run the dynos with.    

Of course, let the power supply come up, charge the cap, 
and then turn on the dyno.

The added advantage is that you will have a really well filtered
power source that may actually reduce the effect of any AC line
transient.
