[ARC5] Power supply suggestions

I have bought a number of 28V Lambda power supplies from eBay - search on
Lambda power supply - there are a lot of nice ones. The lab bench
variable supplies with digital readouts are nice, too, but seem to be
fragile (the circuit that detects the voltage and current appears to get
fried easily, resulting in a floating digital display). Prices for 3A 28V
seem to be around $15-$30, and 8-10A 28V around $20-$40. More than that,
and I don't think it is worth it.
I use a 9A (LM28?) one with a long DC power cable that goes into a little
project box, which I put a switch, fuse, LED, and bananna plugs into, so
that I can leave the supply in one place, and move the cable around to my
R-392, ARC-5 receivers, and R-391 autotune restoration project (all use
28V).
There are also a lot of other vendors of good power supplies, like HP, and
who knows who else. You don't need to pay very much for any of them - so
many labs are dumping stuff like that, the prices are low. I'm sure you
can do even lower than the ebay prices at a swap meet.
