[Antennas] antenna problem solving

well today was finally nice enough (and I had the time) to check out the
yagi.
My tower is next to my big chimney, right next to it.
I can stand on the concrete top of my chimney and reach the antenna.

first thing was connect the dummy load to the yagi's coax.
down to the shack and it showed a normal low swr to the dummy load.
It's a KW dummy load so I gave it the max and still showed normal, no
amp trip out.

This coax connect to a small balun.
The Sommer antennas used a length of coax, and the center conductor, and
the braid were connected to the two wires coming out of this balun, or
matching device, been too long since I installed it to remember what
Sommer called it.
I ran out of time at this point, but will take my antenna analyser,
connect it to that coax<>balun and see if that indicates any trouble.
Problem is, the analyser may not trip it out as there is no power.

Anybody think of a better way to test-check out that balun.
typical PVC about 5 inches high, 3 inches in diameter, two wires coming
out the bottom which are connected to that 5' length of coax. That coax
connects to the coax that comes down the tower and into the shack.

This Sommer yagi, and coax were new about 15-20 years ago, and were a
real good performer.
Plus it gave me 10, 12, 15, 17, 20 metersin one antenna.
