[Antennas] HyTower 17M stub

I finally got the antenna analyzers (both my friend's MFJ and my AEA SWR-121
HF) connected for a trial run on my newly-installed HyGain HyTower. No
radials yet. Only 1 of the 8 groundrods connected. The accessory 17M stub is
mounted. SWR on 40M was awful, with 1:1 down somewhere between 6 and 6.8MHz.
Elsewhere was not too bad, with the best being the very nice 1:1 at 3.9MHz.

Here's my 1st question: I saw NOWHERE in/on the 17M instructions about which
tower leg to mount it. All the rest of the numbers were there (how far up
from the bottom, etc.) I THINK when I was trying to figure this out, the 40M
leg was most obvious, and I THINK it would not have mounted on one (and
maybe both) of the other two legs. Anyone else have a successful
installation of this additional stub?

Anyone else have any comments? Yes, I WILL add some radials next. Yes, I
will connect the other 7 groundrods. I have the DX Engineering Radial
Groundplate that does fit under the HyTower. First I plan to simply
disconnect the easily reached connection point for the 17M stub, and see
what that does to the 40M resonance.
