I used similar grey conduit - 2x12 foot  lengths - to support a HDTV
antenna. Too flexible but easily guyed with 3 1/8dia" lengths of
parachute cord about 2/3 up.  Has withstood  winter blizzards so far.

I am going to take it down this summer and stiffen using 1x16 lath
boards arranged edge-on every 120 degrees.  I will use deck screws
thru the opposite side to fasten, say every 2-3 feet.  I think it will
not need guys then.  Will add another 12 footer and hinge as you plan
if all goes well.
