You can check the voltage at the battery using the AC setting on your trusty
volt/ohm meter. If you get a significant AC voltage then something in the
alternator is going/gone bad (ripple). The battery will smooth out a little
ac but more is bad and will distroy your battery.
Significant you ask? ....You'll have to be the judge of that. I ususlly
start taking things apart at anything over 2vac.
