[Antennas] using Hustler 15m antenna on 6

Some web page shows making a 5/8wl antenna on 6m...and mention that the
length (~135in) is a 1/4wl on 15m...SOOO some local "new" hams got the idea
of putting their 15mtr Hustler on 6m and swear it works as a 5/8wl on
6m...(they also put a 54in mast on a large 3 magnet mount and roof top
mounted !! Needless to say, the mast has already gotten beaten up by trees,
etc).I have ran Larsen NMO-150s on 6m since the 1970s..and have yet found
noticeable difference between that and a full size quarter wave whip on
6m..the NMO-150 DOES out do the NMO-50 in 6m in test though.

I tried to tell them that all its doing is acting as a 1/4wave on 6 using
the 54 in mast and the 15m resonator is acting as a trap and doesnot make
the 15m antenna work as a 5/8w on 6...especially since a 5/8wl would NOT be
a 50ohm match without a base matching network..

Anyone want to comment?? I have given up trying to teach the former CB types
here that certain rules apply and what works one way does not work in
reverse.ARG!!! Yeah a 5/8wl on 6m will work but the size is just too much.
