[Antennas] Butternut HF6V

Because the SWR is out of whack on all bands, I am taking my HF6V 
antenna for a clean up and retuning.  I wonder if it is necessary to 
reinstall the 30M trap.  Since tuning 40M involves repositioning the 30M 
trap, I gather it affects bands other than 30M and the antenna will not 
work without it being in place.  Does anyone have any experience?
