[Antennas] Half Squares

I had one up a number of years ago. Fed it through an LC circuit with
about 100pf variable, 10-12 turns about 2" diameter and tapped several
turns from the cold end. The feed box was a few feet off the ground with
a copper ground rod driven in directly beneath it. No radials at all.

It was oriented roughly NNW, SSE and I made my first JA and Asia QSO's
with it. The antenna was killer on SA and Caribbean and even worked
somewhat to EU.
