I have always used insulated wire for radials. It is much easier to work with, and lasts longer. As a matter of fact, I always use insulated wire for my antennas as well and for the same reason. You will find that it is electrically "long" by about 1 to 3 percent, but otherwise there is no detectable difference. Merv, W2OE
