KD4IEN, I have had extensive experience with powerline noise in nearly
every QTH I've owned (unfortunately).
This goes waaay back to when there was little information published
about this menace.
Go to the ARRL website and order the book titled:
"The ARRL RFI Book" #9892
You will learn a LOT. You will be amazed how a rusty nut and bolt
(which is NOT) connected to any AC, will cause LOTS of wide spectrum
noise.
Luckily, Florida Power and Light have some GOOD RFI techs (some are
hams) and they have done an incredible job turning my rural QTH from an
absolutely unusable one to dead quiet!
e-mail me direct if you need immediate help getting started....
