[Antennas] tower height indicator

I'm a coward. I raise and lower my old Wilson rotatable frequently.
I live in Chicagoland and spring can be interesting wx.

Has anyone ever made/publish an article about a remote tower height 
indicator.

I use a Thern winch, powered by a Hole Hawg right angle drill.
The winch drum is exposed and some sort of electronic turns counter could be 
attached.

Anybody have any ideas?
I'm getting older by the hour and can't always remember how high it is.
