[Antennas] Antennas for 902 mhz (33 cm)

Just now acquiring some surplus commercial equipment for this band
(FM), and I'm wondering what the antennas of choice are for both base
and mobile use.

Is the answer simply the same as used for 2 m and 440, just smaller,
or do I need to change my thinking with the higher frequency.  For
example...a 1/4 wave ground plane would be sooooo cute..and
tiny...:)...would it's performance be adequate?
