[Antennas] loop antenna

Good afternoon to the group.
 
 
I live in an antenna restricted two story flat roof townhouse in Gilbert,  
AZ.  I was thinking of running a wire around the perimeter of the roof and  then 
to a balun and feed that to my transceiver forming an irregular loop  
antenna.  Has anybody done this?  Suggestions are wanted and  encouraged.
