Wait a minit. The wider element will have the wider bandwidth.
I think this applies until your wire antenna has really small wire
(higher DC
resistance) or is made out of resistance wire. Then the the wire antenna
(compared to tubing) WILL have wider bandwidth BUT higher resistive loss
