I have two of those antennas at my summer condo on the lake and like you, I
put my MFJ-249 on it. One got cut down for approx 159 to split the difference
between the Marine and Railroad bands and the other is still on 2M.
It's basically a 2M 1/4 wave with two extra UHF 1/4 wave rods at the top to
go with the VHF one, so it's going to work pretty much like any 2M ground plane
with three sloping radials.
The insulator and spacing are both good enough that I wouldn't worry about
running 25 or 50 watts to it and I have on Marine and 2M with no problems.
